Ever since taking a jump to the iPhone, I never missed anything I left behind on my past smartphones.  The jump was going from a Cavalier to a Ferrari and I left it in the dust.  However, there was that little line of information to calm my fears and loosen my grip if I ever misplaced or lost my phone in the past.  Like any sane user, I kept my phone locked so there was no chance of getting to my data, including my phone book.  At some point everyone has had that feeling of a bolder droping to the bottom of their stomach.  This just helped reduce the size of that rock and improve your breathing because you knew there was a chance that good samaritan would would see that life-saving line of information, “Please call (xxx) xxx-xxxx if found.”  After living on the edge without having that tiny piece of security, I finally came across If Found in the App Store.

The great highlight about this app is that it is very customizable.  You can locate an alternative number in multiple locations on your home screen.  Pick from different colors and use your favorite background.  Basically, once you have it customized to your liking, snap a screen shot and apply it as your new home screen wallpaper.

Yes, I know there are other ways to recover your lost or stolen iPhone with the help of GPS.  This is just like having a key and combination to a lock.  The app guides you through the steps with no problem and you can now sleep a little sounder.
