Wikipedia releases official app

You will now be able to download Wikipedia Mobile from the app store made possible through Wikimedia Foundation. Although, some of you heavy Wiki users might want to hang on to your alternative apps for the time being. Wikipedia Mobile has been described as being somewhat bare bones. But this is there first release, so we should see improvements as time goes on. It’s meant to be fast and simple, but hopefully this won’t delay features we could see in the future.
Wikipedia Mobile is also 100% open source, so don’t be shy to help if you have some experience in Javascript and HTML5. As of now, the only advanced feature is the ability to track your browsing history. As mentioned earlier, chances are you will find more features in your alternative Wiki apps, but I’m sure we’ll be seeing updates soon with the backing of the open source community.
