Have you ever been sitting in a meeting or watching a friend say “I do” in a silent church and BAM … it happens … a call comes in … and you forgot to put your cell phone on vibrate … and it’s blasting your favorite ringtone “Big Booty Hoes” for everyone in the church to enjoy!  Nooooooooooooooooooooo!  Where’s the “smash my cell phone speaker” button!!  Where’s the “smash my cell phone speaker” button!!

Yup, happens to all of us. And we do the 3 things most of us do during that terrifying moment, you try to smother it. Usually under your leg or sometimes in your armpit. Armpit? … Damn it! … I can still hear it! … Now you smash the cell phone speaker into the palm of your hand trying to squeeze skin through the little holes like a pasta machine to muffle this damn thing … I CAN STILL HEAR IT!! … Finally, the sure fire thing you damn well know will work, you take battery out! … Phew … Slowly you slide down your chair and neatly squeeze yourself into your right shoe and hope no one knows that you were the fool that just caused the interruption.

Thankfully, for iPhone users, there’s a much easier way.  When a call comes in and you want to mute your ringer, pressing the Sleep/Wake button or one of the volume buttons will immediately silence your phone. If you’d like to send a call directly to voicemail, you press the Sleep/Wake button twice to decline it.
