i.TV 2.0 for iPhone coming soon
If you are a couch potato, the i.TV app could be the greatest advancement your lifestyle has seen since the invention of the remote control.
As many iPhone owners out there already know, i.TV is the premier app for all things TV and Movie-related. It’s the one-stop-shop for TV programming schedules, community-sourced reviews, local movie schedules, ticket purchasing, streaming trailers, Netflix queue management and so on.
A new version of this absolutely free, laziness-enhancing, application is about to hit the App Store.  i.TV 2.0 has been submitted and currently under review by Apple and assuming the App Store people do their job, should be available for download in a few days.
Version 2.0 brings a bunch of exciting new stuff including:
- New, streamlined UI
- iTunes integration — Initiate available episode/movie/podcast purchases from within the app
- Push notifications — Push alerts for upcoming show reminders, new episodes, etc
- i.TV Remote Control Framework — New support for universal remotes.  Devices can be connected via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or dock-connector. Currently supports TiVo HD and TiVO HD XL boxes but more devices are on the way.
- TiVo is currently planning to release a remote built from the i.TV framework.
i.TV 2.0 is pushing to become the beginning and end of all things entertainment on the iPhone. Â To tide you over until the release, check out the video of the upcomiong features.
