When summertime rolls around you might as well discuss what concerts you plan on attending.  Now you will be able to track what shows are playing near you with Local Concerts created by iLike.  Now you can track your favorite singer or bands and receive alerts when they are coming to town, provide a link to purchase tickets, and also provides maps to the venue.

Immediately upon installation, the Local Concert app for iLike scans music on your iPod Touch or iPhone and recommends live shows in your town based on artists that you listen to.  The iLike concert database combines data from Ticketmaster, LiveNation, TicketsNow, TicketWeb, as well as concert information provided by artists.

A new version has been submitted to the App Store for approval, but it is still pending.  Here is a inside peek of what you might see:

• Personalization: The app scans the music on an iPod or iPhone and provides custom concert listings to match.
• Notifications: Users can opt to be notified whenever an artist in their music collection announces a local concert.
• In-app Maps: Maps to venues are displayed directly inside the app.
• Social Hooks: Users can share concert information with friends via email without leaving within the app.
