iMemento: Study your flashcards on your iPhone
It’s that time of the year again. Classes are back in session and time to hit the books (or attempt to). One of the most classic ways of studying is with simple flashcards. This will flat out determine if you’ve mastered the material or decide to call in sick on test day. Now, you can take your flashcards with you on your iPhone instead of carrying around those stacks of bricks. iMemento is now the new way of studying for iPhone/Touch users.
This app comes loaded with 6 sets of flashcards to basically give you an overview of how it works. Obviously, you also have the option to create your customized flashcards yourself. You will see two boxes on the screen. One of them displays the question and the other box will display a question mark. Once you tap the question mark, the answer will be provided. If you answered the question correctly, tap “Right.” If you failed at the attempt, tap “Wrong.” You can set how many times a question is answered correctly before it is marked as “learned.”
To add customized flash cards to iMemento, you will need your PC or Mac and your iPhone or iPod Touch to be connected to the same network via WLAN. For Windows users, Internet Explorer and Notepad are the default browser and text editor you will be usuing. For Mac users, Safari and Text edit should do the job. With the browser, you will be able to access the flashcard files on your iPhone/Touch or upload flashcards to your device after creating them through the required text editor. For those of you who made need a little assistance, make sure to check out the developers website for tutorials and FAQ’s.
Once you get the hang of creating your flashcards, you will thank yourself for not torturing your hand anymore. iMemento is priced at $3.99 in the App Store. Not bad considering the investment you will make in flashcards and ink.
