Update: Manage apps in iTunes, 3.1 firmware, iTunes 9
Steve Jobs made his way to the stage with a heavy load of announcements to follow. Just anounced at Apple’s anticipated event, “It’s only rock and roll but we like it,” the day has came that we will now be able to manage our apps through iTunes. Man, what a relief. If that was the only changes announced today, I’d still be a happy camper. With this being one of the major headlines, we’re not stopping there.
iTunes 9 brings somewhat of a new look to the table. Expanding its App Store functionality, Apple has loaded a new navigation bar at the top of each page to make where you want to go a whole lot easier to get to. Ringtone rumors from iTunes were also put to rest. You will be able to purchase ringtones from iTunes for $1.29. From a collection of 30,000 tones, you should be able to find what you’re looking for. The big question is, are you willing to pay more for a ringtone then a whole song? A few other enhancements to note:
- Toggle between a full-screen mode.
- A quick view option will make it easier to preview your favorite song, album, or tv show.
- And oh yeah, iTunes 9 avaliable for download today
The anticipated 3.1 firmware was also confirmed that it will be availabe today.
Be sure to check back for more details that are still to come after event has ended.
